Mabel Lewis Bethers passed away Friday, June 27, 2001, at Valley View Hospital in Cedar City UT after a lingering illness.
She was born September 16, 1922 in Heber City, Utah to Rowe and Sarah Evelyn Ivie Lewis. She married her sweetheart, Leslie Bethers January 7, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She lived on 6th South in Heber City her entire life. Her home was always open to everyone and she considered everyone a friend. She was the self-appointed flower lady of the Heber Third Ward and enjoyed extending her love and sympathy to many. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mabel loved collecting and playing with her dolls. She loved to visit with her brothers and sisters, friends and other family members. In her later years she especially enjoyed visiting and laughing with her great-grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank her grandson Teral Lewis Tree for the loving care he gave his grandmother during the past years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Bethers; and two brothers, Glen C. Lewis and Malin D. Lewis.
Survived by four daughters, Bonnie Hansen of West Valley City; Mrs. Arden (Carolyn) Roney of New Port Beach, CA; Mrs. Brett (Julie) Robbins of Cedar City; Mrs. Calvin (Shirley) Bleazard of Cedar City; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2001, 12 Noon in the Heber 3rd Ward chapel. 240 East 400 South, Heber City. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 31st from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, and on Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the LDS Chapel. Interment in the Heber City Cemetery.
