Bernard D. Moriarty, passed away July 29, 2001.
Born Aug. 22, 1916 son of William Mark Moriarty and Elsie Phillipp in Magna, UT. Married Thelma Larsen, Oct. 28, 1939. Member of the American Legion Post 71, Dept. Commander 67-68; Baseball Commissioner for American Legion 25 years. Member VFW-DAV, Elks. Served in World War II. Bernie was employed at Amoco Oil for 37 years. He was a volunteer at VA Medical Center for many years.
Preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, a brother Patrick of Yuma, and a son Michael. Survived by wife; daughter, Patricia (Ted) Kaphan; five granddaughters, Sherry, Pamela (Erik) Stacey, Aaron and Michele, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Thurs., August 2nd, 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Memorial Gardens of the Valley, 10600 S. 1700 E. Friends may call at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E., on Thurs. 12:30-1:30 p.m.
