Gladys Ameila Carwin, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, age 83, passed away July 29, 2001 in Sandy, Utah surrounded by her family.

Born May 27, 1918 in Sanford, CO to Ellis Ralph and Edna Annette

Paulson Nielson. Married Marvin LaVere Carwin Oct 12, 1937 in Sanford. Marriage was later solemnized in the Sale Lake LDS Temple.

She grew up in the San Luis Valley and moved her family to Denver in 1952.where she worked sometimes 2 jobs to support her family. In 1980 she moved to Murray, UT and went to work for the LDS Church Offices until her retirement in 1986. She served an LDS mission in Coos Bay, OR from June of 1988 to June 1989. She served in many church callings in the Relief Society and Young Women including Relief Society president. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a loving and compassionate friend to many. One of her favorite activities was water fights with her family. She will be sorely missed by all.

She is survived by her husband Marvin, children M. Wayne (Elaine), Littleton, CO; Kathy Vise, SLC, UT; Ken (Barbara), Hailey, ID; Carol (Steve) Crofoot, Sandy, UT. 29 grandchildren, 35 great-grand children, and son-in law Don Karr. Preceded in death by daughter Betty Karr and grandson Brett Karr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday Aug. 1, 2001 12:00 p.m. at the Mount Jordan 5th Ward (9331 S. 300 E. ) Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Cannon Mortuary (2460 E. Bengal Blvd.) And also Wednesday, 10:30-11:45 a.m. At the Church. Interment will follow at Mt. View Memorial Estates.
