A canyon breeze has extinguished the flame in the lantern of life for our grand woman from the high country. After 65 years of loving, nurturing, and in-spiring everyone she welcomed to her world, Shirley Emma Hansen passed gracefully from a life well lived June 30, 2001.

Born in her beloved Fountain Green, UT Aug 23, 1935 to Geraldine and Neil Draper, Shirley shined through her life as woman, friend, sister, wife, daughter, dedicated employee, entrepreneur, and canasta player. Her most cherished and endearing role was as the matriarch of our very extended family where she illuminated the world for all her children and grandchildren.

A void that can never be filled will be felt by Lorna, Bob, Neil, Pat, Richard B, DeEtte, Drew, Ben, Wendy, Melonie, Andrea, Darren, Dana, Cris, Terri, Randy, Alan, Kristan, Joshua, Todd, Jennifer, Ryan, Lindsey, Isabeau, Ian, Alex, Jacob, Cole, Danny, Sarah, Nicholaus, and countless relatives and friends to whom Shirley offered non-judgmental love and sanctuary.

Shirley brought wonder and magic to all of our worlds, she mystified us with her ruthlessness at spoons, charmed us with the melodies of Jim Reeves, and astounded us with her incredible and boundless devotion to her grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Thurs. July 5, 2001, 11 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 S. 200 E, Salt Lake City. Friends are invited to visit the family prior to the services 10-11 a.m. She will be then taken back to Fountain Green City Cemetary for a graveside service at 3 p.m.
