A Logan man was killed over the weekend after his truck rolled near Hyrum.

Killed was:

Moises Colazo-Caballero, 31.

Colazo-Caballero was driving his pickup truck on 6600 South early Saturday morning when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road near 2400 West, Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Von Williamson said.

The truck rolled at least twice, killing Colazo-Caballero on impact and came to rest on its roof in a nearby ditch, Williamson said. The truck was discovered by passing motorists about 1 a.m., Williamson said.

Jose Carillo, 18, Logan, was a passenger in the truck and suffered a broken cheek bone, broken clavicle, head injuries and several lacerations, Williamson said.

Carillo was taken by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital, where he remained in satisfactory condition Thursday morning. He was expected to be released later in the day, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Police said alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the accident. The truck was traveling 62 mph when it rounded the curve, Williamson said.
