The Salt Lake office of engineering firm Sear-Brown, 151 S. Regent St., has received three awards for design work on the Park City Intermodal Center & Roundabout.
Envision Utah presented the engineering, architecture, planning and construction firm with its awards for Grand Achievement in Project Implementation and Best Achievement Promoting the Development of a Regionwide Transportation System.
The Intermountain Region of the Institute of Transportation Engineers gave Sear-Brown its 2001 Engineering Project of the Year award.
The Park City roundabout was designed to accommodate buses, private vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. It is said to alleviate parking problems in downtown Park City and replaces a "large, high-speed, skewed, three-legged intersection" with a higher capacity and pedestrian-friendly intersection.
