St. Mark's Hospital has been recognized as a leader in cardiology. For the third year in a row, the hospital was designated one of the 100 top hospitals in Solucient's (formerly HCIA) "Cardiovascular Benchmark for Success" study. This year, St. Mark's is Utah's only hospital to make the list.
The study measures hospitals against eight performance measures that indicate high-quality outcomes and efficient management of care. These performance measures include risk-adjusted mortality, infection, hemorrhaging indexes, length of stay and average cost indicators. The hospital has also received 11 five-star ratings from Healthgrades.com, an independent national rating firm. Five of the five-star ratings are in cardiology.
The hospital is a MountainStar Healthcare (formerly Columbia/HCA) hospital.
