The chief executive officer of a jewelry company that made wedding rings for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston denies the firm agreed not to sell similar rings.

"There has never been any type of agreement or contract between Damiani and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston prohibiting or limiting the marketing of the jewelry in question," Guido Damiani, chief executive officer and general manager of Damiani Group, said in a statement.

The couple filed a $50 million lawsuit last month claiming the jeweler had promised not to sell similar rings. The lawsuit said they had designed the rings.

A hearing on the couple's application for an injunction is set for Sept. 17.
