The men charged with robbing a string of 7-Eleven stores for cash, beer and cigarettes will spend at least nine years behind bars.

Davis Toki, 20, was sentenced Monday to nine years to life in the Utah State Prison. Two separate sentences of one to 15 years will run concurrent to the more lengthy penalty.

Toki pleaded guilty in June to first-degree felony aggravated robbery and aggravated assault and robbery, both second-degree felonies. The charges stem from one robbery on Dec. 25, 2000, and two robberies at separate Salt Lake stores on Jan. 6.

Earlier this month, 18-year-old Taiami Tuifua was also ordered to serve nine years to life in prison for his role in the robberies.

Tuifua pleaded guilty in June to first-degree felony aggravated robbery and two counts of robbery, both second-degree felonies.

Similar charges against a third man, Emosi Fehoko, were dismissed.

Salt Lake police shot Fehoko, 18, in the face Jan. 6 as he attempted to evade police after the second robbery. He was released from LDS Hospital Jan. 29. The two officers were cleared in the shooting.
