Emily Andrews Burton died on August 19, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the University of Utah Medical Hospital after complications from heart surgery.
She was born on August 12, 1931, in Magna, Utah to Constandino and Jenny Andrews, she was the youngest of seven children.
Her family moved to McGill, Nevada in 1936, were Emily attended McGill Grade School. Her family then moved back to Salt Lake City in 1945, were she attended and graduated from Cyprus High School. She worked until 1954 when she met and married Max D. Burton. Max and Emily were married September 12, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple on January 16, 1963.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, being a member of the Draper Sixth Ward. Her main hobby was her husband and her Grand kids.
She is survived by her husband Max D. Burton; sons: Mitchell D. (Cheryl) Burton, Max D. (Katheryn) Burton Jr., daughter, Joni Jean (David) Courtright; stepdaughter; Michelle and DeWayne Evans; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Sophie Malaperdas, Wilma Panos, Frances Ricketts; many nieces and nephews. Officially she had four children, Unofficially there were too many others to count.
Emily was preceded in death by her youngest Son, Mikele Dean (Dino) Burton on July 19, 1962 at the age of 2 1/2 by auto accident; brothers Stanley Andrews, Bill Andrews; sister Helen Dragosavac.
Funeral Services will be held Sat. August 25, 2001, 1:30 p.m. at the Draper 6th Ward 12870 So. 1300 East. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. August 24, at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. Murray, and Sat. one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Sunset Gardens.
