Our dear sister, Emma Chasty Albrecht Brian Sorenson, age 88, of Loa, died August 22, 2001 in Richfield, Utah.

She was born February 14, 1913 in Fremont, Utah, the second of six children born to Earl LeRoy and Evalena Balle Albrecht. Emma married Fount Brian, July 24, 1932 in Fremont. He passed away May 13, 1935. Emma then went to school at Snow College and graduated from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education in June of 1938. She taught school in Loa. Emma was called on a mission for LDS Church to the Northern States Mission from 1938 to 1940. After her mission, she returned home to teach school. She met Jeppie Gross Sorenson and they were married December 25, 1940 in Loa. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple August 30, 1983. After Jeppie was released from the army, they built the Wayne Wonderland Motel in Loa. They ran a very successful business there for many years.

Emma served in many church callings including Stake MIA, Stake Relief Society and ward Relief Society. She and Jeppie spent several winters in St. George doing Temple Work. She was very dedicated to her church callings and loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Emma and Jeppie enjoyed trips to Lake Powell and traveled often.

She is survived by a step-daughter: Glenna and Michael Trudeau of San Francisco, CA; three step-grandchil-dren and several step-great-grand-children; sisters: Nila and Glen Carlson of Orem; Donna and Lewis Blackburn of Fremont; Beth and Garth Tolbert of Delta; Alta T. Albrecht of Fremont. She was preceded in death by a brother, Rex LeRoy Albrecht and a sister, Lula Albrecht.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Loa Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11-12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Loa Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Uta
