I have just finished reading the letter to the editor by D.J. Hesterman titled "Morning school blues"; he thinks schools shouldn't start so early. Maybe, D.J, if you went to bed a little earlier you wouldn't have the problems you stated in your letter.

Our school system is about much more than just knowledge. It's also about teaching you to be a contributing member of society when you're an adult, which will be sooner than you think. Courtesy, responsibility and citizenship round off your education. Learning to be at a given place at a given time is something you need to be responsible for. If that means going to bed during your favorite TV show, so be it. That's just the way life works.

May you succeed in your education and your subsequent career.
