George Marshall Duncan, 85, died peacefully at home of cancer on August 23, 2001.
Born April 10, 1916 in Dearborn, Missouri. Married Ruby Lance Jan. 6, 1942. George proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps from 1939 to 1945 and received the Soldiers Medal with a cluster. He and Ruby owned and operated Deseret Roofing from 1947 to 1980. George was one of those rare individuals who knew how to have fun in everyday living. He fully embraced life and enjoyed life and it's pleasures: his family, his friends, his tomatoes, the backyard birds, fishing, golfing, hunting and dancing. He found the good in every person he met. His gentle spirit will live on in those who knew him because he gave us a model for living: be fair, honest and loving in all things.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby and his son, George.
Survived by his daughter Pamm Duncan, Salt Lake; son Howard (Jan) Duncan, Lewiston, MT; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 S. 700 E., where friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001 from 5-7 p.m.
