Anna Witzel Stein, 96, passed away on August 18, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born on April 30, 1905 in Elberfeld, Ger-many to Johann Witzel and Emma Popp. She mar-ried Gottfried Stein on June 12, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Anna loved her grandchildren and great-grand-children, and had a great influence on her grandchildren's lives. She was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker. She immigrated from Germany in 1927. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren as the world's greatest cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Esther S. Anjewierden; grandchildren, D'Anne Campbell, Karen Davis (Ken), Dirk Anjewierden IV (Lisa), Paul Anjewierden (Julie), Maline Thornton (Doug); 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and brother, Raymond Witzel (Verla). She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and sisters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sat., August 25, 2001 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr., where friends may call from 12:45-1:45 prior to services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
