"The group's leader, Paul McKay, wanted to teach young people to be proud of their surroundings and town and to teach them responsibility," said Adopt-A-Highway coordinator Jeri Ross. The Mink Creek Ward began cleaning a 10-mile stretch of Idaho 36 in April 1999. They have picked up some 12,000 pounds of litter so far.
