SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A valet parking company is suing a hotel, alleging the hotel fired minority valets and hired mostly white replacements.

Royal Valet Parking Co. owner Biruk Tadesse said he was told his workers, who are black and Asian, did not fit the "image" of the Clift Hotel owned by Ian Schrager. The valets had parked guests' cars at the hotel for about two years.

The lawsuit filed Thursday in San Francisco Superior Court alleges racial discrimination, civil rights violations and emotional distress, and seeks unspecified damages.
