With all due respect, Mr. Matheson, I wonder how you vote for legislation that does not impose tougher fuel efficiency standards for sport-utility vehicles and minivans? I wonder how you could vote for legislation that allows drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge?
I lose sleep wondering how could you vote for the energy bill? Your vote defies all logic.
According to the National Academy of Science, the technology to bring light trucks, SUVs and minivans up to car fuel-efficiency standards without compromising safety and without adding much cost is available.
If automobile manufacturers increased fuel efficiency, then drilling for a non-renewable resource in a federally designated wildlife refuge would not be necessary. To conserve — not destroy and extract — is logical.
I am extremely disappointed in your vote on the energy bill.
