M. Night Shyamalan has a certain sense about Newtown, Pa.

The filmmaker was recently spotted checking out the shops and scenery in this Philadelphia suburb, a location on his upcoming movie, "Signs."

Newtown "just had the right small-town feel to it. It's such a sweet little town," he said.

Shyamalan said that his new movie revolves around a farmer played by Mel Gibson who discovers mysterious patterns in his field.

Filming of the Disney Touchstone Pictures film is expected to take place in October, according to Andrew Ullman, the movie's location manager.
