No. 1-ranked Dixie State College opened the Western States Football League on a winning note Saturday, earning a 54-16 victory over Eastern Arizona.
Former Logan standout Jared Lowe threw for just under 300 yards and three touchdowns, and Hunter's Joe Lomu rushed for two scores in the blowout.

SCOTTSDALE 14, ARIZONA WESTERN 7: Andrew Garcia returned a 6-yard fumble late in the fourth quarter to lift Scottsdale to the victory.
NEW MEXICO MILITARY 40, RANGER COLLEGE 0: NMMI allowed just 73 yards to Ranger College in the shutout.
