Salt Lake police were looking Monday for a woman who left an 8-year-old girl she was supposed to be baby sitting with a man she had just met the night before.
The woman dropped the girl off at the Super 8 Motel, 50 E. North Temple, Saturday morning with the man, said Salt Lake police detective Isi Tausinga.
The woman failed to return to the motel as she promised and the man and young girl were kicked out a few hours later. After wandering down North Temple the man passed out from intoxication near Main Street, Tausinga said.

The girl continued to the LDS Church Office Building, where she told security she was hungry. The girl was taken into protective custody and her father was notified of what had happened, Tausinga said.
