Our dear husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Dale A Madsen, peacefully passed away Saturday morning Aug 25, 2001 in Salt Lake City, UT after having suffered for several years. He is now free to enjoy life with his Heavenly Father and loved ones.
He was born Jan 14, 1922 in Manti, UT the son of Gorham M. Madsen and Evangeline Anderson. He married Donna Sperry May 24, 1946, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He served his country during World War II, then worked over 40 years in the petroleum industry. As a member of the LDS Church his life was filled with service in the Salt Lake Temple and with the youth.
His enjoyments were traveling, water sports, fishing, the outdoors, gardening and especially time spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; children, Lynadale (Ken) Powell, Alan (Barbara) Madsen, Mary (Mike) Orme, April (Scott) Quinn; 19 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and sister, Shirley (Don) Barraclough. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gene, Jeff; and four siblings.
Services will be Wed. Aug 29, 2001, 12 noon at the Rose Park LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 800 N. 1200 W, SLC, UT. Viewing, Tues. 6-8 p.m., Larkin Mortuary 260 E. So. Temple and at the church, 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, UT.
