Gary Leonard Syfert, 57, died Saturday August 25 at his home in Salt Lake City.
Born May 26, 1944 in Yakima, WA to Dale and Elizabeth Drussell Syfert. Gary married Linda Cole April 9, 1992 and with Linda came the family he needed and cherished.
He is survived by Linda; sons Mitchell Syfert, Todd Cole and his wife, Mari; daughters, Heidi Potter, Jessica, Elizabeth, and Katie Cole; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Loren, Jordan; father, Dale Syfert; stepmother, Audrey; brother, Carey; sisters, Mary Ann, Patsy; and Gary's canine companion, Buddy.
An avid angler, Gary was always looking for the bigger fish. He made strangers feel like old friends. He was a father to those who before had none. He was Linda's love and she was his everything. He left us in tragedy, but will stay with us always in love.
Services will be Tues. Aug 28, 10 a.m. at the Rosepark LDS 2nd Ward, 760 N. 1200 W. Gary requested for donations to be made in support of his family in place of flowers.
