Myron Finkelstein, our loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away August 25, 2001, of heart failure.

Myron, son of Herman and Carrie Finkelstein , was born Sept l4, 1911, in Salt Lake City.

He attended Stewart School and East High School graduating in l929.

While at East he was on the track and football team.

He went to the University of Utah for one year before becoming a partner in the family business, The Western Furniture Co.

He married his school sweetheart, Rachelle Medoway Oct l6, 1935, and had three daughters with his lifetime partner of 65 years.

He belonged to the A.Z.A., B'nai B'rith, and Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity.

He was president of the B'nai B'rith Salt Lake City Chapter, Treasurer of the former B'nai Israel Temple as well as president of the Utah Furniture Association.

After the Western Furniture closed the business, Myron became a real estate broker owning his own company, Realty Sales, and was a member of the Salt Lake Real Estate Board for 25 years until his retirement in l985.

Myron had a terrific sense of humor and was a caring neighbor who always helped in any emergency.

He loved the outdoors, gardening and was an avid fisherman, fly casting being his favorite.

He loved to go sightseeing and travel with his wife, Rachelle, especially going to visit the children in California and Illinois.

He was charitable, always supporting many organizations when contacted.

He believed in the motto, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you".

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted , loving wife Rachelle, daughters Barbara (Richard) Schefsky, Janice (Donald) Sagan and Susan (Philip) Bernstein, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 4 p.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary Aug 27, 2001

Contributions can be made to Congregation Kol Ami and Hadasfah. Burial, at B'Bai Israel.
