PROVO — Azarias Corbeil and Sam Swenson combined for eight hits to lead the Provo Angels to a 12-1 thumping of the Casper Rockies on Monday at Larry H. Miller Field.

The Angels scored seven runs in the first three innings, highlighted by David Gates' two-RBI double in the first. In the sixth inning, Corbeil swatted a two-run home run.

Provo's Joe Torres (2-2) earned the win and struck out eight Casper batters.

The Angels improved to 20-12, while the Rockies dropped to 17-14. Provo hosts a crucial three-game series beginning tonight against the Ogden Raptors (18-13).
