Sienna Riggs, 10, of Springville, leans against a statue as she listens to a local folk band perform at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo on Thursday. The free concert featured students from the Institute of American Music, which was founded by BYU music professor Mark Geslison. The institute is a private organization for teaching and promoting traditional American music as well as other folk music styles. Students play instruments such as guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle. In an effort to sharpen their skills, they perform at a variety of venues.
