SCORE: LSU 31, Utah State 14

RECORD: 0-2

OFFENSE: Kevin Curtis caught 12 passes for 100 yards to stay No. 1 in the nation in receptions, while Emmett White gained 108 yards. Jose Fuentes completed 30 of 52 passes for 235 yards, but many of the passes were under five yards, and he also had two interceptions. Still, an overall improvement. GRADE: B-

DEFENSE: The secondary gave up several long passes down the middle of the field and allowed LaBrandon Toefield 183 yards, including a game-breaking 70-yarder just before the half. GRADE: C+

SPECIAL TEAMS: Steve Mullins continued to punt well, averaging 46 yards on six punts. No FGs for Dane Kidman, who made both PATs. The kick returners didn't do anything outstanding, but at least they didn't fumble any kickoffs like last week. GRADE: B-

NEXT UP: at Fresno State (3-0), Saturday 8 p.m. MST
