WILLARD, Box Elder County — Searchers on Monday recovered the body of a man in the Great Salt Lake who was missing since Saturday.
Authorities had not released the 67-year-old man's name by late Monday morning.
He was found in 6-foot-deep water about 250 yards from where his boat was tied up, Willard Bay State Park Manager Roland Bringhurst said.
The man was supposed to be working on his boat, a Willard Bay State Park statement said.
By Sunday, the man hadn't returned home, and his wife reported him missing about 7:45 a.m. The Box Elder Sheriff's Search and Rescue Scuba Team and park rangers searched several hours for the man Sunday before discovering his body 8:50 a.m. Monday.
This is the second search for a missing person in the Great Salt Lake in the past week. On Friday, searchers looked for Jeff Stansfield, 50, Draper, who was tossed into the lake by wind and waves. Stansfield swam to shore and was met by rescuers seven hours later.
