MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — An assistant football coach and a freshman football player were stabbed at a high school Monday when a fight broke out after practice.

The 14-year-old was in serious condition Monday night at Hennepin County Medical Center. Mark Johnson, 45, was listed in stable condition. Police did not immediately release the player's name.

The fight occurred about 6:30 p.m. when the Roosevelt High School team was leaving practice. The student was apparently stabbed in the chest, and the coach was stabbed in the back as he tried to break up the fight. No arrests were immediately made and no weapons were recovered, police said.
