SALT LAKE CITY <! > - Dale Ezra Peterson, 78, died surrounded by his family September 8, 2001, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

Dale was born June 4, 1923 in Draper, UT to Ezra L. and Frances Orinda McGuire Petersen. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, 1943-1945. He was married to Barbara Jean Lund June 26, 1945 in San Diego, CA, and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 18, 1965. Dale served with his wife, Barbara at the Jordan River Temple as an ordinance worker for 14 years. He loved the gospel, his grandchildren, gardening, fishing, hunting and working in his wood shop doing carpentry work.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Craig, Rick (Konnie), Clay (Sonja); grandchildren, Carrie, Chelsea, Kami, Jared, Zachary, Melissa, Joshua; brother, Doug; and sister, Marva. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and son, Randy.

The family and Dale would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Harker and Dr. Stigge.

Services, Big Cottonwood LDS 7th Ward chapel, 5565 S. Neighbor Lane (1610 E), Thurs. Sept 13, 11 a.m. Friends may call at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St, Murray, Wed. Sept 12, 6-8 p.m. and at the church 10-11 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
