OGDEN — A man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping a young Roy girl and taking her to Louisiana earlier this year will serve 180 days in jail.

Paul David Williamson, 45, pleaded guilty last month to child kidnapping and theft, both second-degree felonies. He was originally charged with first-degree felony child kidnapping and second-degree felony vehicle theft.

On April 1, Williamson abducted 3-year-old Angel Alexander in an attempt to get back at his ex-girlfriend, Angel's mother Jackie Cash, who told him she no longer wanted him around. Williamson drove to Louisiana, where he has family, in Cash's van.

In addition to the jail term, 2nd District Judge Parley Baldwin last week ordered Williamson to serve three years' probation following his release, undergo anger management counseling and have no contact with the young victim or her mother.
