The Utah Senate has issued a pair of proclamations in response to Tuesday's terrorist attacks on America.

The first, to be sent to government officials in New York City and at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., expresses sympathy and support for victims of the attacks.

The second, to be sent to the White House, recognizes the attacks as an act of war and supports President Bush's statement that the perpetrators, or those who harbor the perpetrators, will be punished.

The second proclamation also includes a commitment from Utah's senators that the 2002 Winter Games will be held as planned with adequate security and in a way that will make the country proud.
