SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick — Members of the Saint John Ward, Saint John New Brunswick Stake, were pleasantly surprised by the acceptance they recently received from Mayor Shirley McAlary when they presented her with a framed copy of the Proclamation on the Family. The presentation was part of a stake effort in which each of the 11 wards and branches was asked to present the Proclamation to their local city leaders.

When presented with the Proclamation, Mayor McAlary said she would propose to the city council that a week in September be set aside as "Family Week."

A framed and matted Proclamation with an illustration of the Savior that was presented to Town Mayor Dale Somerville by the Kennebecasis Ward in Hampton now hangs prominently in the lobby of the town offices.
