A number of organizations will devote more time this week to fund-raising and support efforts for the victims and families of last week's terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington. Those include:

The Salvation Army will do a special Bell Ringing Red Kettle campaign in most Wasatch Front Smith's stores. The bell ringers will be outside the stores between Wednesday and Saturday, from 3 to 8 p.m. KUTV (Channel 2) has also donated air time to promote the bell ringers.

Customers at Rite Aid stores can purchase $1 disaster relief certificates, with proceeds going to the various funds.

Salt Lake radio stations owned by Simmons Media Group raised more than $300,000 during a fund drive last week Throughout the country, Simmons-owned stations raised more than $800,000, and the company matched $250,000 of those donations.
