SALT LAKE CITY, UT<! > - Mary M. Stroud had a great love for travel. She always looked forward to her next "Trip." On Sunday, September 16, 2001she left this earth and began her final trip home. She passed away peacefully at 1p.m. She was 85 years young.
Mary was born January 4, 1916 in Heber City, Utah to Heber Murdock and Effie Morton. She married Thomas W. Stroud November 30, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary was a graduate of the LDS School of Nursing and The University of Utah. She held many positions during her 25 years of service with the State of Utah Department of Health, including Director of Nursing.
She retired in 1981.
She is survived by sons Thomas A. and James M. Stroud, brother John Murdock, seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren (She took great pride in each one).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001. 11 a.m. in the Valley View 5th LDS Ward, 2245 East 3900 South, Salt Lake. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the LDS Chapel.
Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
