SHARE Open house, dedication dates announced for Nauvoo temple

The First Presidency has announced dates for the open house and dedication for the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. Because of the historic significance of this event, the dedication will be broadcast via satellite to Church members worldwide. In a letter to priesthood leaders within the temple district, the following dates were approved:

VIP open house: Wednesday-Friday, May 15-17, 2002.

Public open house: Saturday, May 18-Saturday, June 22, 2002 (except for Sundays, May 19, May 26, June 2, June 9 and June 16). Tours will occur from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. except Mondays, when they will close at 6 p.m.

Dedication (four days, 10 sessions total): Thursday, June 27, 2002, at 7 p.m. CDT, one session; Friday, June 28, 2002, three sessions; Saturday, June 29, 2002, three sessions; Sunday, June 30, 2002, three sessions. Open house ticketing information will be posted on the Church's Internet web site, www.lds.org.
