Henry Schouten, 79, husband, father, grandfather, friend and just a plain good-hearted and generous man, passed away peacefully August 30, 2001 with his family at his side.
Born Sept. 20, 1921 in Ogden, Utah, son of John David and Hendreka Susanna Unck Schouten. Married the love of his life, Wanda Geraldine Kemp November 7, 1952. Retired from Mountain Fuel Supply Company June 27, 1980 after 39 years of dedicated service. Hank had a great love of all animals except for fish, which he preferred in a frying pan.
Hank leaves behind Jerri, his loving wife and companion of 49 years; two daughters, Judy (Ralph) Davis, Auburn, WA; Cora (Larry) Bridge, Murray, UT; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sweet little dog, Abby, who is still waiting for him to come home. Preceded in death by parents; three sisters; six brothers; grandson, Bry; two loyal dogs, Tinker Bell and Honcho.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses in the Critical Care and Special Care units of Cottonwood Hospital for making the last days of his life very comfortable.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12 noon at the Bennion Heights 3rd Ward, 5775 So. 2700 W. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd and Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
