- Jack Lee Voyles, age 74, Jack crossed the finish line in his last race on August 31, 2001.
Jack L Voyles was born May 18, 1927 in Cement, OK. a son of William Jesse and Jane Smith Voyles. He married Marie Merkley on May 30, 1952 in Chalalis, WA. He worked in the oil fields and owned Voyles Automatic Transmission Service. He served in World War II. He loved racing on the old dirt tracks, camping, hunting on Taylor Mountain and spending time with family and friends. He was active in the B.P.O. Elks for 25 years, holding many offices, Exalted Ruler four times and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler.
He is Survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Vickie Voyles; son, David (Glenda) Voyles; grandchildren, Jacque (DeJay) Smuin, Lee (Rory) Cookman, Angela Cookman; brother, Don (Shirley) Voyles; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Blake Lee Smuin
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Maeser Stake Center. Friends may call on Tuesday at the Chapel one hour prior to the Services. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
