NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton followed Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's advice Friday and pulled out a credit card to bolster the city's rattled economy.

The ex-president spent $342.79 at the NBA Store and picked up New York Knicks sweatshirts, Washington Wizards hats and a child-size Los Angeles Lakers jersey with "O'Neal" on the back.

Clinton also said he plans to fly on several airplane trips next week to demonstrate air travel is safe.
