SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) — An American Airlines flight bound for Mexico City was turned back to Los Angeles International Airport early Saturday after the FBI received a threat about the aircraft, an airport spokeswoman said.

Flight 889 landed in Los Angeles at 2:50 a.m. PDT about an hour and a half after taking off for Mexico City. Bomb squads in Los Angeles searched the plane but found nothing suspicious.
