A man was in fair condition Thursday morning after he was stabbed by an unknown assailant while walking down 1300 West.
Police did not release the name of the 35-year-old victim. The man told police he was walking near 234 S. 1300 West at 2:35 a.m. Thursday when an unknown attacker jumped him from behind, Salt Lake police detective Isi Tausinga said. The attacker stabbed the man once in the upper abdomen and right elbow, Tausinga said.
A person living in the area saw the victim lying on the sidewalk and called police. The man was taken by ambulance to LDS Hospital.
According to Tausinga, the victim's attacker didn't say or take anything from the man during the attack.
