Local firefighters from the cities of Salem and Spanish Fork manned the admission gate at the Krishna Temple's Annual festival of India on Sept. 15, and some $6,000 from the event was donated to the New York City Firefighters Fund.

Throughout the festival, there were tributes made to the heroic firefighters who lost their lives at the World Trade Center. The festival itself, through Indian dance, music, cuisine, culture, art and drama, celebrated the diversity that has made America strong.
