Florence Bird Coles, 93, died at home September 26, 2001.
Born Dec. 10, 1907 in Richfield, Utah to Albert Wm. Burton Bird and Alice Brettell Bird and attended schools in Richfield and Salt Lake City, graduating from LDS High School.
Married Joseph William Coles July 9, 1933 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died August 3, 1980. A sister, Olga Bird Soss, died Jan. 23, 1992. Actively involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life, served in Primary and Relief Society presidencies in wards of Ensign State, Salt Lake City. With husband served two missions to Hawaii in 1970's.
Mother of three children: Robert J. Coles (Solveig); Julie C. Moore (Richard) and Annette C. Dunford (Douglas) who survive her. Also 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Florence's life was blessed with many friends and acquaintances whose concern for her and service to her is gratefully acknowledged. She was an expert seamstress and loving homemaker. Family expresses deep gratitude to Florence's caregivers.
Funeral services Monday, October 1, Ensign Fourth Ward, 435 K Street, Salt Lake City, 12 noon. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. So. Temple, 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 and at the ward Monday 11-11:45 a.m. Family suggests contributions to American Red Cross or charity of choice.
