Entertainer Bob Hope rested comfortably and awaited his release from a hospital where he has been recovering from pneumonia, his publicist said.

Hope, 98, was expected to leave Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., by the end of the Labor Day weekend.

"The doctors said Friday that he would be released hopefully sometime by the end of the Labor Day weekend. Well, we have one more day," publicist Ward Grant said Sunday. "But there's no guarantee."

Hope, 98, was admitted to the hospital last Sunday after experiencing trouble breathing at his Toluca Lake home.
