Gloria Jeanette Nielson, age 73, passed away Sept 27, 2001 peacefully after a long battle with respiratory illnesses.

Gloria was born Oct 1, 1927 in Salt Lake City to L. Jeanette Da-vidson and Grant Teakle. As a child, Gloria played the violin and the pi-ano. At the age of 12 she was the youngest violinist in the National All High School and College Orchestra at the San Francisco World Fair. Attended Granite High School. Married Wayne Harri-son, later divorced. Married Marlan L. Nielson Oct 3, 1953 in Las Vegas, NV.

Gloria was a talented seamstress and a good cook. She sewed clothing for her family and also for charity bazaars. She crocheted countless afghans for family, friends, and coworker's newborn babies. She loved bowling with Marlan for many years and enjoyed the friends they made.

Gloria worked at SEFCO in the delivery department for a time, then worked for Univac/Unisys. She volunteered many hours for Bennion, Newman, and Northstar Elementary Schools. Gloria loved family time and looked forward to weekly visits. She also enjoyed her friends at the Respiratory Rehab class at Cottonwood Hospital. Gloria would tell all,

Survived by Jenny (Bob) Elzinga, Becky (Bill) Gerritsen, Kathy Nielson, Keith (Trish) Nielson; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beverly (Vaughn) Dansie.

Services to celebrate her birth and life will be Mon. Oct 1, 10:30 a.m. at Northpoint LDS 2nd Ward chapel, 1155 N. 1200 W, SLC (North Chapel). Viewing, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn. Directors, Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
