Salt Lake County sheriff's investigators have more information about a human skull and bones found between Mount Olympus and Millcreek Canyon on Thursday.

The state medical examiner has determined the bones were from a white male, between 45 to 55 years old who was between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall, said sheriff's Sgt. Jerry Townsend.

The man probably died about two years ago, Townsend said. Although a cause of death has not yet been determined, Townsend said he did not believe it was a homicide because of the rugged area where the bones were found.

As of Tuesday morning, investigators had not found anyone in their missing person files who matched the victim's description. Townsend said a more complete search of the files and the files of other police departments was scheduled for today.
