Two roles in Deseret Dramatic Association's "readers' theater" style production of William Shakespeare's "King Lear" need to be filled as soon as possible.

According to assistant director Patrick Gibbs, the performers previously selected to play the Duke of Gloucester and Goneril, King Lear's eldest daughter, have dropped out of the cast.

An actor capable of playing someone in his 50s or older is needed for the role of the duke. A woman in her mid- to late 30s is needed for Goneril.

Rehearsals are now under way. Performances will be Oct. 12, 13, 19 and 20 in the Old Social Hall at This Is the Place Heritage Park. Experience in Shakespeare is preferred but not required. Those interested should contact Gibb at 969-8251 or e-mail him at ungy@qwest.net
