BICKNELL, UTAH <! > - Our kind and beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Orlo Young Durfey, age 81, of Bicknell, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001 in Price, UT, of complications from kidney dialysis.

He was born July 24, 1920 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of George Lawrence and Theresa Liston Durfey. Orlo married Ellen Allen, June 30, 1942 in Lyman, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 30, 1959. Ellen died May 6, 2001.

During World War II, Orlo joined the navy and faithfully served his country. He was a member of the LDS Church and a rancher and farmer in Wayne County.

He is survived by his children, Lucy Marie and Vorris Stevens of Loa; Elaine and Ross Davis, Allen O. and Connie Durfey, all of Bicknell; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother and sister, R. Cline and Norma Durfey of St. George; Ada and Clive Mecham of Cowley, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Kay Stevens; five brothers and three sisters, J. Golden Durfey, Lawrence Durfey, Rotas Durfey, Royal Durfey, Pershing Durfey, Nola Ann Durfey, Wanetta Durfey and Bertha D. Ellett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell, where friends may call for viewing Thurs. morning from 11-12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
