Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Billy Murray, passed away at home on December 29, 2001 in West Valley City, Utah.

Born June 10, 1934 to William Jack Murray and Dennie Belle Lowrance Murray at Oakvale on the Red River in Van Buren County Arkansas. Billy married Rita Sweeney in Flint, Michigan October 4, 1968. He retired from A.C. Rochester East, General Motors in Flint, MI after working 38 years.

Jerry had a great love for the Lord all his life. His family, children, grandchildren, and great-grand-children were the light of his life. He attended Pentacostal Churches in Flint, MI and Valley Assembly in West Valley, UT. Jerry sang with the Bridge Builders - a bluegrass gospel group.

Jerry is survived by his spouse, children Tena La Porte, Taylorsville; Linda Tinnin, Flint, MI; Jo Ellen (Itaska), West Valley City; Betty Liss (Joe), Brandon, FL; grandchildren Pamala, Michelle, Melinda, Julie, Jacob, Chelsea, Jennifer and Kelly; great-grandchildren Levi, Jordan and David; brother Fred Murray (Wendel), Fox, AR; sister Jewel Kocher (Raymond), Fox, AR; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Marvin.

The family is grateful for help for Jerry from the nurses and aides of Harmony Home Hospice and his own aide Hyrum.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Jan. 3, 2002, 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 So. Redwood Rd.) where friends and family may call on Wed., Jan. 2, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
