Derall Page Riley, a devoted husband and father, was born Nov. 17, 1922 to Fred and Martha Riley in Bountiful, Utah, and passed away at home, Dec. 30, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. He will be sorely missed.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Derall continued his career with AT&T as a lineman, and retired with 45 years of service as Head of Personnel for the Western Area. He served as an LDS bishop in Colorado Springs, CO. and in San Rafael, CA., where he resided with his wife, Melba, for 25 years. Derall served faithfully in the Oakland, CA. and Jordan River temples for 17 years. His passions were his family, and his beautiful yard and garden. Derall possessed the gift to make each person he met feel included and special.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Geraldine. Derall is survived by his mother, Nina Law Riley Beaves; his devoted wife, Melba Botero Riley; his sons, Derall L. Riley (Kathleen) and Fred M. Riley (Sharyn); 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Rhea Barrett and LouAnn Martin; and his brother, William Riley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at 12 p.m., at the Hidden Oaks Ward, 11755 S. Highland Dr. The viewing will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
