ISTANBUL — A three-story wooden building collapsed in central Istanbul today, killing two children, rescue workers said.
State-run Anatolian news agency said the two dead children were ages 11 and 13.
All the dead and injured were believed to be from the same family.
The floors of the old wooden building had fallen in though at least part of the facade was still standing. There was no immediate indication of the cause of the collapse.
At least two people died last September when a small hotel in Istanbul collapsed during work underneath the building.
